HBO's Between the World and Me lines up a star-studded cast, including Oprah Winfrey, Angela Bassett and Joe Morton

The special adapting the stage show based on Ta-Nehisi Coates' 2015 book Between the World and Me will star Oprah Winfrey, Angela Bassett, Joe Morton, Phylicia Rashad, Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter, Courtney B. Vance, Alicia Garza, Pauletta Washington and Susan Kelechi Watson. The HBO performance at Harlem's Apollo Theater, which hosted the first stage performance in 2018, "will incorporate elements of that production, including readings from Coates' 2015 best-seller, along with documentary elements, archival footage and animation," per The Hollywood Reporter.
