On Thursday, Gentry posted for the first time since she received online harassment from Swift fans after her Netflix character's joke about Swift went viral, prompting the singer to slam the show and Netflix on Monday morning. While not directly referencing the controversy, Gentry's lengthy statement thanked the people who showed up in her comments to defend her. "Thank you for the love and support you have shown me and our show, Ginny and Georgia, over the last week. I never would have imagined something like this as a young girl -- that is, having a voice capable of impact," Gentry wrote.
