Game of Thrones decided not to shoot a direwolves-versus-dragon battle in the Battle of Winterfell

"It was a much bigger sequence than we shot," says director Miguel Sapochnik in an interview on the Filmmaker Toolkit podcast. "And there were many things that happened that people would've been so happy to have happen, attacks of direwolves, crazy stuff," he said.
