Former American Idol star Antonella Barba is facing life in prison after her indictment on federal drug charges

Federal authorities charged the Season 6 Idol contestant with one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and one count of conspiracy, according to the Ashbury Park Press. Barba, who was arrested last October, had been out on bond before she was taken into federal custody on Monday morning. The federal charges each carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.
