Former American Idol finalist Caleb Kennedy arrested in fatal DUI

The 17-year-old Kennedy, a Top 5 contestant who left Idol in 2020 amid a social media scandal, was charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death for the fatal crash in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Kennedy allegedly ran off the road and into a private driveway this afternoon, slamming into a workshop behind a house and hitting a 54-year-old man who later died at the hospital.
