Emma Stone to co-star with Nathan Fielder in Showtime's The Curse from Fielder and the Safdie Brothers

The Uncut Gems duo's pilot for The Curse, announced earlier this year, has been picked up to series with the Oscar-winning Stone on board. The Curse is described as a "genre-bending scripted comedy that explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show," according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Stone will star opposite co-creators Nathan Fielder .... and Benny Safdie. Stone and Fielder will play the couple; Benny Safdie will portray the producer of the HGTV show." Fielder will direct the series along with serving as a star and executive producer. The Curse marks Stone's return to TV after starring in the 2018 Netflix limited series Maniac.
