Edie Falco to play Hillary Clinton on Impeachment: American Crime Story

The Emmy-winning actress will co-star opposite Clive Owen as Bill Clinton, Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky and Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp in the FX anthology series on the Clinton impeachment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Falco's deal to play the former first lady, New York senator and secretary of state has been in the works for months and recently closed. In 2019 FX boss John Landgraf told The Hollywood Reporter that Hillary Clinton would not be "one of the main characters" in the story, but Falco's casting seems to indicate otherwise. Falco won three of her four Primetime Emmys playing Carmela Soprano on The Sopranos, which featured a scene of Carmela discussing whether Hillary Clinton is a role model.
