“No politically correct efforts,” an anonymous ESPN exec said in a statement explaining why sportscaster Robert Lee was pulled from calling a football game in Charlottesville. “No race issues. Just trying to be supportive of a young guy who felt it best to avoid the potential zoo.” PLUS: ESPN wasn’t trying to be politically correct — it was being corporate, Robert Lee is unknown to 99.9% of the sports viewing public, Robert Lee became a pawn to advance an anti-ESPN agenda, and ESPN’s decision was “extremely silly.”
