Dave Chappelle and George Carlin are the only comedians to have Emmy-nominated Mark Twain Prize ceremonies

There have been 22 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor ceremonies, but last week Chappelle's 2019 Kennedy Center honor became only the second to earn an Emmy nomination. The 2019 salute to Dave Chappelle was nominated last week in two categories, including outstanding variety special (pre-recorded). The 2009 posthumous tribute to George Carlin was nominated for outstanding special class programs.
