Letterman and his Late Night successor discussed Bob Hope, Johnny Carson, how individual late-night shows become a blur and their similarly aged teenage kids -- Conan and Letterman first became fathers a few weeks apart in fall 1993 -- on the Season 2 premiere of Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend. But there was no talk about their once-common enemy: Leno. Letterman also reiterated his regret of not retiring from late-night earlier.
