The NBA legend made the revelation while speaking to Hank Azaria's character on the The Jim Brockmire Podcast. Barkley didn’t say when the offer was made, only that, “I like football, but I ain’t gonna be one of these jackasses get on TV and act like he know about football.” ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio delved into Barkley's comments and learned from a source that the offer was made when Monday Night Football was on ABC in the early 2000s and that it was for Barkley to do a halftime spot.
