CBS orders a mother-and-son legal drama pilot from Dr. Phil and Silicon Valley actor Scott Prendergast

Prendergast, who wrote for FX's Wilfred and had a recurring role on Silicon Valley, will pen the pilot about "a talented but directionless P.I. who is the black sheep of his family and, despite their opposing personalities, agrees to work as the in-house investigator for his overbearing mother, a successful attorney reeling from the recent dissolution of her marriage." Phil McGraw will serve as executive producer.
