Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter teams with Nicholas Pileggi on a Showtime mob drama

Emmy-winning The Sopranos writer Winter will write the untitled series with the help of Pileggi, the author whose books inspired Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas and Casino. (Pileggi also served as an executive producer on The Irishman.) Deadline reports that the untitled series, which counts Brian Grazer as an executive producer, "is inspired by Pileggi’s in-depth chronology of organized crime in America — which is also the history of corruption in America — as seen through the eyes of the mafia’s First Family."
