Bill Paxton's family reaches a partial $1 million settlement in wrongful death lawsuit

With Friday marking the fifth anniversary of the Big Love star's death at age 61 shortly after heart surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Paxton's family has reached a partial settlement with Dr. Moody Makar and General Anesthesia Specialists Partnership. Makar works at the firm and was the anesthesiologist during heart surgery Paxton had less than two weeks before his death on February 25, 2017. The trial for the remainder of the lawsuit against the hospital is expected to begin in April.
