Bill Cosby sparks backlash by thanking Aretha Franklin for singing A Different World's theme song

The Queen of Soul sang the theme song for The Cosby Show spinoff from Seasons 2 through 5 -- even though her ex-husband Glynn Turman was one of the show's stars. Cosby paid tribute to Franklin this morning, tweeting: "Aretha Franklin – I want to thank her for her wonderful voice singing the theme song of “A Different World.” She made a big, strong positive impact on that series." That prompted a Twitter backlash, with responses ranging from "Are you tweeting from jail?” to “Wifi must be good in cellblock c.”
