Animal shelters and zoos are celebrating Betty White's 100th birthday

Today marks what would have been her 100th birthday, and animal shelters have found ways to honor the longtime animal lover. Some have also benefitted from the social media  “The Betty White Challenge," in which fans are called on to donate at least $5 to a local shelter or rescue organization. The Los Angeles Zoo, which White had a close relationship with, also has been flooded with gifts since the day she died.
