Alice child star Philip McKeon dies at 55

McKeon, the older brother of The Facts of Life star Nancy McKeon, played Tommy Hyatt, the son of Linda Lavin's Alice Hyatt from its first post-pilot episode in 1976 through nine seasons until its series finale in 1985. “We are all beyond heartbroken and devastated over Phil’s passing,” family spokesperson Jeff Ballard said in a statement. “His wonderful sense of humor, kindness and loyalty will be remembered by all who crossed his path in life.” Hyatt took over the role from Alfred Lutter, who starred in the pilot and originated the role in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, the 1974 Martin Scorsese film Alice was based on.
