Actress Lisa Banes dies after a hit-and-run scooter driver struck her in New York City

Banes, 65, died Monday, 10 days after she suffered a traumatic brain injury after she was struck by a scooter on the Upper West Side while visiting New York City from Los Angeles. Banes had recurring roles on Royal Pains, One Life to Live, Six Feet Under, Nashville and Son of the Beach, where she played Mayor Anita Massengil. "I am deeply saddened at the news of Lisa Banes’ passing," tweeted Seth MacFarlane. "We had the good fortune to work with her on The Orville this past year.
