A True Blood reboot is in the works at HBO from Riverdale's Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa with creator Alan Ball on board as executive producer

Aguirre-Sacasa is attached to write a pilot of the reboot of Ball's HBO vampire fantasy horror drama with NOS4A2 creator Jami O'Brien. HBO has yet to make an official announcement. Ball is expected to return as executive producer. Based on Charlaine Harris’ Southern Vampire Mysteries novels, True Blood ran for seven seasons from 2008 to 2014.
