TikToker Taylor Odlozil has opened up about being a single parent. In an interview with People magazine on July 14, 2025, he discussed his late wife, Haley Odlozil, and their son, Weston.
Haley Odlozil passed away on July 14, 2023, after an eight-year-long battle with ovarian cancer. She was 30 years old at the time of passing. She had over 150,000 followers on Instagram and over 10,000 subscribers on YouTube. Taylor Odlozil documented his wife's journey on TikTok, and now he has nearly 3 million followers.
Taylor Odlozil told the media outlet that as a single father, he does every household chore, along with taking care of his young son. Odlozil shared that the most "challenging" part of raising his son was being "compassionate," just like a mother. He stated that helping Weston deal with the grief of losing his mother was difficult; however, the 6-year-old has been "resilient."
"I've had to learn, I have to be a mom too. I've got to be that compassionate side that moms are very good at," Odlozil told the media outlet.
Speaking of Haley Odlozil, Taylor shared that he keeps her memory alive by always remembering her and talking about her. He stated that they "celebrate" Haley by doing "special things" like celebrating Mother's Day for her, and her birthday.
"We always talk about her, every day. She was an amazing person, so it's so easy to talk about her. Tradition-wise, we always have the celebration of her life. We always celebrate Mother's Day for her. We celebrate her birthday. We do those little special things to keep her memory alive," he said.
Odlozil told the media outlet that Weston is quite in tune with emotions and is very empathetic, as he always figures out when his father needs emotional support. Taylor Odlozil also said that he remembered how his wife taught him to appreciate people while they are around, and to take things easily, being present, instead of worrying about situations.
According to People magazine's report dated July 14, 2023, Haley was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015, weeks before her marriage to Taylor Odlozil. The two welcomed their son, Weston, in 2019 via surrogacy.
In an interview with TODAY in March 2023, Haley shared that her fear was being forgotten, and her husband assured her that he wouldn't let it happen. She also told the media outlet that they were making sure to create good memories.
"It's definitely not an easy thing to navigate, especially when you have a little one and amazing family and friends. You don't want to leave. That's hard. But we're trying to make sure that we make memories and there's a lot of good moments," Haley Odlozil said.
