The phrase “emotional support animal” is set to take on an entirely new meaning in HouseBroken, FOX’s new animated comedy about an animal therapy group. Behind the scenes, an impressive ensemble of actors voice the neighborhood’s pets and stray animals, all of whom have their own baggage and emotional hangups. Here’s a guide to the cast of HouseBroken on FOX:

    Lisa Kudrow as Honey

Friends star Lisa Kudrow leads the HouseBroken voice cast as Honey, a poodle who opens her living room up to group therapy sessions. Of course Honey is not without her own problems, as she struggles with her “marriage” to Chief (Nat Faxon), a Saint Bernard, and hopes to find companionship among the other animals. Most recently seen in HBO Max's long-awaited Friends reunion, the veteran actor's voluminous other TV roles include Netflix’s Death to 2020, Space Force, and Feel Good, and films like Booksmart and Long Shot.

Honey’s husband — via an arranged marriage organized by their human — is Chief, played by Nat Faxon. A large, sloppy Saint Bernard, Chief prefers to spend his days licking himself and eating socks. Faxon is no stranger to voice work: he previously appeared as Elfo in Disenchantment, as the titular character in The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, and as Pickle in Blaze and the Monster Machines. On screen, fans will recognize Faxon from Friends From College, The Conners, and The Way Way Back, among other roles.

    Will Forte as Shel

Emmy winner Will Forte plays Shel, a sex-positive tortoise with intimacy issues and a habit of choosing unconventional partners. Forte cut his bones on Saturday Night Live from 2002-2012, leveraging that fame in the 2010 action comedy MacGruber, a feature film based on his beloved sketch. After leaving SNL, Forte established himself as a go-to voice actor, booking roles in The Cleveland Show, American Dad!, The Awesomes, Gravity Falls, and The Great North. The funnyman also created and starred in FOX sitcom The Last Man on Earth, which ran for four seasons from 2015 to 2018.

    Sharon Horgan as Tabitha

After years on the show circuit, Tabitha, an aging Persian cat beauty queen, struggles to adjust to regular life, but she hopes the therapy group may be able to help. Tabitha is voiced by Sharon Horgan, the co-creator and star of comedy series Catastrophe, for which she won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Comedy Writer (with co-creator Rob Delaney) in 2016. The Irish star also created British comedy Pulling and HBO’s Divorce, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Haden Church. When she’s not writing, Horgan spends her time acting in projects like Man Up, Game Night and This Way Up.

Jason Mantzoukas as The Gray One

Big Mouth fans will quickly recognize Jason Mantzoukas’ voice in HouseBroken, in which he plays The Gray One, a street smart cat with eyes (well, one eye) only for Tabitha. Mantzoukas is one of the most prolific character actors working today, with roles in everything from The Good Place to Brooklyn Nine-Nine to Dickinson. On the film side, Mantzoukas has appeared in Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator, The Lego Batman Movie, The Disaster Artist, and John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. Next up for Mantzoukas is Infinite, a sci-fi action film also starring Mark Wahlberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Dylan O’Brien.

    Sam Richardson as Chico

Sam Richardson’s Chico, a big, co-dependent, and very naive feline, rounds out HouseBroken’s coterie of cats. Richardson comes to the FOX comedy by way of Detroit, and his upbringing inspired him to create Comedy Central’s Detroiters with fellow Michigander Tim Robinson. A few years prior, in 2014, the actor broke out as another hopelessly naive character, Richard Splett, in Veep, which he followed up with roles in Spy, Office Christmas Party, and Champagne ILL. Richardson has also voiced characters in various animated series, including Hoops, BoJack Horseman, and Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K..

Tony Hale as Diablo and Max

Tony Hale's Max, a self-obsessed pig, and Diablo, an OCD terrier, couldn't be any more different. (Photos: FOX/Netflix)

In HouseBroken, Tony Hale pulls double duty as Diablo, a sweater-wearing terrier whose OCD causes him to hump everything twice, and Max, George Clooney’s status-obsessed pig. Hale first made a name for himself as Buster Bluth in Arrested Development before slowly building up his credits with roles in Chuck, Sanjay and Craig, and Good Vibes. From 2012 to 2019, he played Gary Walsh, Selina Meyer’s personal assistant, in Veep, a role that earned him two Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy. These days Hale can be seen (and heard) across the entertainment landscape in Toy Story 4 and Forky Asks a Question, Archibald’s Next Big Thing, Crossing Swords, Harley Quinn, and The Mysterious Benedict Society.

    Clea DuVall as Elsa

Yet another Veep alum, Clea DuVall joins the group as Elsa, a power hungry, know-it-all Corgi who constantly gets on Honey’s nerves. DuVall appeared in a series of successful movies in the nineties (She’s All That and Girl, interrupted were both released in 1999) before breaking out as a queer icon for her role in But I’m a Cheerleader. Over the next two decades, DuVall has appeared in countless film and television projects, including Zodiac, Argo, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Veep, in which she played Marjorie, Selina’s bodyguard turned daughter-in-law.

HouseBroken premieres Monday, May 31 at 9:00 PM ET on FOX.
