Breathless season 2 gets a Halloween release date by Netflix: Cast and teaser explored

Breathless season 2 is a Spanish-language hospital drama directed by David Pinillos, Marta Font, and Abril Zamora, delivering eight episodes of medical and social tension under executive producer Carlos Montero Castiñeira. The show was renewed for a second season in December 2024, and Netflix confirmed that the second season would premiere on October 31, 2025, more than a year later. 

The Joaquín Sorolla Hospital undergoes a change from public to private management in season 2 of Breathless, leading to institutional difficulties and increased ethical demands. The main characters return with more intense plots: Pilar faces her son Quique's growing addiction, which results in surprising alliances; Jésica battles with self-esteem in the midst of a romantic triangle involving Biel and Lluis; and Patricia, who is battling cancer, intensifies her emotional negotiation with oncologist Néstor. The arrival of Sophie (Rachel Lascar), a new oncologist, disturbs hospital dynamics and causes tensions across departments.

The series has eight episodes and is liked by critics and audiences alike. On the film and television rating website Rotten Tomatoes, the show has been certified 71% ‘fresh,’ while the audience score stands at 65%.

Manu Ríos as Biel de Felipe

In Breathless season 2, Manu Ríos portrays Biel de Felipe, a committed young oncology resident at Valencia's Joaquín Sorolla Hospital. After overcoming neuroblastoma in infancy, Biel entered the hospital under mentor Dr. Néstor Moa. Despite joining a widespread strike by healthcare workers, he decides to keep treating important patients, putting professional ethics before of protest, and gaining recognition for his moral clarity and medical expertise.

Additionally, Biel helps Dr. Jésica Donoso deal with her loss, and their developing relationship becomes emotionally crucial to the group's issues on both a personal and professional level. 

Manuel Ríos is a musician and actor from Spain. He became well-known for his parts in the short film Strange Way of Life (2023), the Netflix teen drama series Elite (2021–2022), and Muted (2023).

Najwa Nimri as Patricia Segura

In season 2 of Breathless, Najwa Nimri plays Patricia Segura, the strong but ethically torn President of the Valencian Community. Segura, a fervent supporter of healthcare privatization, is unfortunate to receive a breast cancer diagnosis that puts her in the very public hospital system she aimed to abolish. 

Though she struggles with emotional agony and ideological inconsistencies, she continues to be politically uncompromising despite her illness, utilizing her influence to advance her cause. Patricia becomes vulnerable as her relationship with oncologist Dr. Néstor Moa develops, exposing a nuanced person motivated by fear, power, and survival.

Aitana Sánchez-Gijón as Pilar Amaro

In addition to her rigorous job, Pilar is dealing with a very personal crisis: her son Óscar's growing heroin addiction. While navigating hospital politics and growing ethical quandaries during the shift to private healthcare management, her unwavering mother loyalty is evident in her commitment to protect him at all costs.

Blanca Suárez as Jésica Donoso
