Larry David, Hugh Laurie and Rob Lowe Headline a Busy Weekend on TV

The trio of TV favorites return in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Avenue 5 and 9-1-1: Lone Star.

    It's a weekend of sports and high profile returns with Larry David back on Curb Your Enthusiasm, the debut of a new Hugh Laurie comedy from the creator of Veep, and a 9-1-1 spin-off starring Rob Lowe. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Saturday and Sunday:

    SATURDAY JANUARY 18

    SPORTS: A new season of primetime NBA Basketball begins with the Los Angeles Lakers playing the Houston Rockets. 8:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM PT on ABC

    SERIES PREMIERE: In the first episode of the new series Seven Worlds, One Planet, David Attenborough takes viewers on a journey across Australia. Watch the preview. 9:00 PM ET on BBC America

    ENCORE PRESENTATION: Jennifer Lopez hosts Saturday Night Live with musical guest DaBaby in a well-received episode from December that featured a surprise appearance from James Corden as "mean girl" Boris Johnson. 11:30 PM ET on NBC

    MADE FOR TV MOVIE: When Chloe (Kaitlin Doubleday) and her college friends reunite for a wintry adventure, the appearance of her former flame Charlie (Colin Donnel) gives the reunited duo a second chance at romance in Love on Iceland. Patti Murin (Chicago Med) co-stars. 8:00 PM ET on Hallmark

    MADE FOR TV MOVIE:  Robin Roberts Presents Stolen By My Mother: The Kamiyah Mobley Story dramatizes events from the summer of 1998, when Gloria Williams (Niecy Nash) walked into a Jacksonville, Florida hospital disguised as a nurse, took Kamiyah (Rayven Ferrell) from her birth mother's arms, and raised her as one her own for the next nineteen years, until her secret was eventually exposed. 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime

    SPECIAL REPORT: In Beyond the Headlines: The Kamiyah Mobley Story with Robin Roberts, Mobley, now 21, sits down with Roberts to discuss her life experiences and the shock of learning that the woman she thought was her mother had actually kidnapped her when she was only eight hours old. 10:00 PM ET on Lifetime

    NEW EPISODE: Ride along with the Live PD crew as they join law enforcement officers on the late shift in cities across the country. 9:00 PM ET on A&E

    SPORTS: Championship Sunday kicks off with the AFC Championship Game as The Titans take on the the Chiefs Live from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. 3:05 PM ET on CBS

    SPORTS: The Packers square off against the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game live from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. 6:40 PM ET on FOX

    SERIES PREMIERE: While Masked Singer won the plum post-Super Bowl slot, FOX is giving Rob Lowe's 9-1-1: Lone Star the post-NFC Championship slot tonight, before it settles into its Mondays at 9pm time slot while mothership 9-1-1 is on winter hiatus. The burning question: does 9-1-1: Lone Star keep Austin weird?  Primetimer editor-at-large (and Austin resident) Tara Ariano rates the queso.  After the game on FOX

    SERIES PREMIERE: From Armando Iannucci, HBO's new sci-fi series Avenue 5 follows captain Ryan Clark (Hugh Laurie) as he navigates catastrophe and customer service nightmares after the interplanetary tourist ship he is captaining malfunctions, leaving him stranded in space with a mix of disgruntled passengers and dysfunctional crew members.     SEASON PREMIERE: Twenty years after its debut, Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm is back for Season 10.
