Scorsese's The Irishman Lands on Netflix in Record Time

    Netflix continues to rewrite the rules with its biggest original film to date, Martin Scorsese's The Irishman. When the streamer announced that it intended to make the film available for streaming less than a month after its theatrical debut, the major theater chains all cried foul, refusing to screen the film unless the streamer respected the traditional theatrical window of at least 60 days. Netflix stuck to its guns, and having played in limited theatrical release for 27 days, the film makes its streaming debut today. Also today: a special holiday installment of Ellen's Game of Games, classic Thanksgiving-themed skits from SNL, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. and more. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Wednesday:

    STREAMING PREMIERE: Martin Scorsese's three and a half hour mob epic The Irishman features a cast of Scorsese all-stars, including Robert Deniro, an out of retirement Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel, along with first time collaborator Al Pacino. Watch the preview. Streaming on Netflix

    HOLIDAY EPISODE: In what's become an annual tradition, Ellen Degeneres brings Ellen's Game of Games back tonight for a special holiday edition ahead of the show's official Season 3 kick-off in January. 8:00 PM ET on NBC

    HOLIDAY SPECIAL: With 45 years under its belt, A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special has a lot of classic holiday skits to choose from (along with a few turkeys, but that's all part of the fun.) 9:00 PM ET on NBC

    HOLIDAY SPECIAL: Hopefully your meal tomorrow night will include more than popcorn and toast, but it's not the holidays until you've watched Peppermint Patty invite herself to Chuck's place for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. 8:00 PM ET on ABC

    NEW EPISODE: If family gatherings have you feeling a bit too cozy, a journey into chilling imagination of Stephen King might be just the ticket. Castle Rock's latest episode is entitled "Dirty" which could refer to troubled nurse Annie Wilkes' assessment of the "birds" around her. Streaming on Hulu
