Gucci Mane's wife Keyshia Ka'Oir made a brief reference to the rapper's September 2013 arrest while speaking about his schizophrenia. The couple appeared on The Breakfast Club podcast's latest episode, released on Monday, October 20.

Host Loren Lorosa asked Keyshia how she managed to protect Gucci and "the business" they had built while dealing with her husband's mental health. Keyshia, who has been married to the rapper since 2017, replied:

"I have a system. I take his apps off his phone."

Keyshia said her first task is to delete Instagram from Gucci's phone. She continued:

"Even if I got to change his password, I'm changing it because I don't need the public to know he's having an episode."

Alluding to Gucci Mane's September 2013 arrest, Keyshia Ka'Oir told Loren:

"You realize you'd never know about any other episode since Sept. 13 because I control that. 'Cause you're not going on Instagram, you're not going on Twitter, it's deleted. I just control everything at home."

On the night of September 13, one of Gucci Mane's friends called the Atlanta police to complain about the rapper's alleged "erratic" behavior. When police responded to the scene by 12:05 am, the rapper allegedly became "increasingly agitated with officers and began cursing and threatening them."

Cops had found marijuana and a handgun in the rapper's possession and arrested him. He was later taken to a hospital for a medical checkup. Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, was booked on charges of disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed weapon, and marijuana possession.

Regardless, Keyshia Ka'Oir did not clarify on The Breakfast Club podcast whether schizophrenia played a part in Gucci's September 2013 arrest.

Gucci Mane claims his friends took advantage of him due to his vulnerability

In 2014, Gucci's mother first mentioned his schizophrenia and bipolar disorder diagnoses while filing a court petition for guardianship. Despite the taboo surrounding mental health crises among Black men, the King Snipe rapper has been candid about his conditions.

While speaking at The Breakfast Club, Gucci's wife, Keyshia Ka'Oir, said she has learned to observe the signs before an impending episode that would plague the rapper. Keyshia explained:

"Now, before the episodes come, I catch it. So that's why he hasn't had another one. And how you catch that is he doesn't speak to you. He wants to be left alone. He don't eat. He does not sleep. Text messages; there's a period after each word."

    Keyshia continued:

"I'm like, 'You're going through an episode. You're sick.' 'No, I'm not. Ain't nothing wrong with me. Why do you think that?' 'You're not speaking to me.' 'Well, there's nothing to talk about.' I said, 'Well, that's not how you speak to your wife.' And I'm like, 'You're sick.' And we snap out of it right then."

Host Charlamagne Tha God then spoke about Kim Kardashian's latest revelations from the Call Her Daddy podcast. Kim claimed her ex-husband, Kanye West, would give away her cars when going through a mental health crisis.

Gucci Mane revealed he used to give away jewelry:

"Jewelry costs so much, I would give my friends jewelry. They knew I wasn't well, but they'd take it."

    Gucci added:

"They know something going on with me, but they'd take it. When I got out of jail, I cut off all my friends. I'm like, 'Damn, they was taking advantage."

Gucci Mane opened up about his bipolar disorder and schizophrenia diagnoses in Episodes, his new memoir, released earlier in October.
