Former NBA player Kwame Brown ridiculed former NBA All-Star point guard Gilbert Arenas and former NFL player and sports analyst Shannon Sharpe during a recent live stream on his YouTube channel.

Brown’s criticism of Arenas and Sharpe comes in the wake of legal troubles for both the former athletes. On July 30, it was revealed that ESPN has decided to part ways with Sharpe more than a week after the former tight end settled a $50 million lawsuit filed by an ex-girlfriend who accused him of s*xual assault and battery, as per USA Today. Brown also mocked Arenas, who was charged with running an illegal poker ring in his home on July 30, according to BBC.

During a live stream, Brown expressed his satisfaction with Arenas, his former Washington Wizards teammate, having to suffer legal consequences. Arenas’ co-defendant is an Israeli national suspected to have ties to organized crime as per BBC, and this fact was references by Brown as he said,

“They say this n***a had the Israeli mob. This n***a is playing cards with the Israeli mob. Huh? I was wondering what the f*** is this n***a talking so much sh*t to me for?…He playing poker with the Israeli mob, oh sh*t…I told people one thing, I said, ‘this n**** is a stupid mother*****, he’s going to self-sabotage. He’s a dummy. And look at this stupid mother****”

Continuing his rant against Arenas, who had pleaded not guilty to three charges, Brown added,

“God damn, Gil, you're in the slammer…You’re facing fifteen years, five years on each charge, right? But your dumba** was playing cards with the Israeli Mmob. So now you’re going to have to make a decision. You can’t snitch, because your dumba** said you’re ‘No Chill Gil’ so you can’t chill. You've got to fight this one out.”

Brown also expressed his elation at Sharpe’s exit from ESPN, and said,

“Its like my mother****ing brithday, n***a. Shannon Sharpe, your big talking-a** fired. All them mother****ers that talk about my momma’s son, n***a. Shannon Sharpe, your thick tongue a** fired.”

Kwame Brown’s feuds with Gilbert Arenas and Shannon Sharpe explored

Kwame Brown’s happiness at Gilbert Arenas and Shannon Sharpe’s legal problems arises from the years-long feud he has been engaging in with both former athletes.

Arenas and Brown, who both played for Washington Wizards together for a few seasons, have been feuding since Brown alleged that Arenas made requests to the team's management to limit Brown’s time on the court, as per Basketball Network. As per ESPN, in 2005, Brown claimed,

“The thing is, the whole thing stems from Gilbert telling them not to put me in the game. I didn't come to practice because I was going to be a distraction. I was going to slap the sh*t out of him.”

At the time, Arenas denied the accusation, claiming that Brown was merely making ‘excuses.’

The two have feuded repeatedly over the years. Just last year, the two disagreed over Bronny James’ dismal performance with the LA Lakers, as per Athlon Sports. Brown said at the time that rookie Quincy Olivari deserved a chance over James, a position that Arenas passionately contested.

Meanwhile, Brown also has a long-standing problem with Shannon Sharpe which began when Brown sharply criticized LeBron James’ performance in a 2023 game against Denver Nuggets. As per Complex, Brown said that he would ‘burn’ his LeBron jersey if he owned one.

Sharpe, on the other hand, felt that Brown’s criticism was unjustified, and he slammed the former NBA player by calling his career the “Mount Rushmore for busts in the NBA history,” noted Complex.

Brown, however, had a rebuttal ready, and questioned Sharpe’s grasp of basketball by calling the former NFL player a “football-playing dummy,” as per Sporting News.
