Vince McMahon would ban players with “any criminality” from the XFL, but why doesn’t he hold WWE to the same standard?

In announcing his XFL revival, McMahon said he wants XFL players to be people who do “not have any criminality associated with them whatsoever.” That includes players with a drunk driving past. But as David Bixenspan points out, McMahon’s 25th anniversary of Monday Night Raw this week featured several wrestlers who’ve had criminal pasts, including Steve Austin and Kurt Angle. Which has Bixenspan wondering if there is perhaps a racial motivation behind the “criminality” ban.
