Ted Danson tells Tina Fey why he joined Mr. Mayor: "I wanted to know what your comedy felt like to do"

“You are my boss and I am a sycophant at heart, but that is also the truth,” Danson said in a Variety conversation with Mr. Mayor co-creator Fey. “I wanted to know what it was like to be in you and (co-creator) Robert (Carlock’s) brain. I wanted to know what your comedy felt like to do.” Fey responded: “You know, the kid in me that grew up watching Cheers, that you just said, ‘I’m your boss,’ is preposterous."
