Orange Is the New Black to end with Season 7 in 2019

Netflix announced today that the upcoming seventh season will be the last for the acclaimed Jenji Kohan prison comedy-drama. Back in February 2016, Netflix renewed OITNB for Seasons 5, 6 and 7 ahead of the show's Season 4 premiere. Orange Is the New Black cast members made today's announcement via a Twitter video. "I'm going to miss living on the edge of one of the most groundbreaking, original and controversial series of this decade," said Kate Mulgrew. The Season 6 game-changing finale set the stage for a final season after spending six years in the minimum and maximum security prisons of Litchfield Penitentiary. Netflix has yet to announce a release date for Season 7.
