Netflix and Mario Lopez team on Latinx family comedy The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia

The multicamera comedy from Lopez and Melissa & Joey producer Seth Kurland revolves around Ashley Garcia, who is "the world’s only 15-and-a-half-year-old robotics engineer and rocket scientist, who gets the chance to work for NASA," according to Deadline. "She moves across the country to live with her fun-loving Uncle Victor (Jencarlos Canela), a pro football player-turned-high school coach who’s never met a responsibility he can’t shirk." Newcomer Paulina Chavez will play the title role, while Melissa & Joey creator David Kendall will also write the series, with Kurland serving as showrunner.
