NBC Nightly News launches a kids' edition, hosted by a hoodie-wearing Lester Holt

This evening, Holt unveiled the first-ever kids' edition of Nightly News, posted on YouTube, with a young child reading the intro to the show. “Kids are no different than the rest of us. They’re a little scared and they want answers,” Holt tells Variety. “But they also want to be empowered and so we wanted to put together a broadcast that would inform and also provide inspiring stories of what other young people are doing around the country.”
