Miss America CEO suspended after vulgar emails about past winners surfaced

Sam Haskell was suspended by the pageant’s board of directors Friday following his email scandal, which prompted 49 former Miss Americas to call for the pageant’s leadership be replaced. "The Board will be conducting an in-depth investigation into alleged inappropriate communications and the nature in which they were obtained,” the board of directors said in a statement. “In addition, the Board wishes to reaffirm our commitment to the education and empowerment of young women, supporting them in every way possible."
