Melissa Benoist is set to star on HBO Max's The Girls on the Bus

The former Supergirl star is in talks to reunite with executive producer Greg Berlanti on his, Julie Plec and Amy Chozick's adaptation of Chozick’s bestselling book Chasing Hillary. Deadline reports that Berlanti, who co-created Supergirl, reached out to Benoist in hopes of boosting the project's chances. HBO Max gave The Girls on the Bus a series order this week after years of it being in development at The CW and Netflix.
