The true-crime documentarian behind Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel and Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes is teaming with Wheelhouse Entertainment to develop the podcast Dead and Gone as a scripted series. Dead and Gone tells the story of how the bodies of Mary Regina Gioia, 22, and Gregory Allen Kniffin, 18, two fans of the Grateful Dead, were found in the San Francisco Bay, beaten and shot to death in August 1986. The podcast explores whether Ralph International Thomas, a Black man who was arrested and sentenced to death for the murders, was the true killer.
