Jim Gaffigan to star in Amazon's first standup comedy special

Titled Quality Time, the special will be Gaffigan's seventh special overall. As The Hollywood Reporter points out, Gaffigan's standup special "signals Amazon's intent to compete with deep-pocketed rival Netflix in the genre. Netflix entered the space, previously dominated by the likes of HBO, Showtime and Comedy Central, and the market for comedy specials exploded."
