For three weekends in a row, Ellis would wrap his acting scenes at 5 a.m. on a Saturday, hop on a plane to Mexico an hour later, and return Sunday so he'd be ready to perform again on Monday morning. "The logistics of it were really, really tough. I'll say that," he said of directing Sunday's episode.
