Jason Momoa to co-write and star in Apple TV+ Hawaiian history drama Chief of War

Apple has given an eight-episode order to the drama series telling the story of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view. Momoa will make this TV writing debut penning the series with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett. The pair have already co-written Momoa's upcoming film The Last Manhunt. Pachinko director Justin Chon is in talks to direct Chief of War, which marks Momoa's second Apple series after See. Momoa, who is of Native Hawaiian ancestry on his father's side, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
