Hannah Simone to star in another ABC comedy pilot, this one inspired by her bond with her father

The former New Girl star, who played the lead in last season's rejected ABC The Greatest American Hero reboot pilot, will star, co-write and executive produce an untitled single comedy based on her relationship with her father, who's of Indian descent. Simone wrote about her dad in an emotional 2014 Time magazine essay. "I am grateful I was raised by a trailblazing feminist: my dad," she wrote. The pilot is described "as a unique coming-of-age story where father and daughter are starting over together" following her father's divorce from her mother.
