HBO Max passes on J.J. Abrams' The Shining-inspired Overlook hotel drama, but it could end up on Netflix

Netflix is the frontrunner to land the potential series revolving around the iconic hotel featured in Stephen King's 1977 and Stanley Kubrick's 1980 movie, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Overlook was one of the first three shows Abrams set up at HBO Max under his Bad Robot production company’s $250 million overall deal with parent WarnerMedia.
