Former NBC executive George Cheeks to take over as head of CBS, replacing Les Moonves successor Joe Ianniello

Joe Ianniello, who went from Les Moonves' right-hand man to acting CEO to CEO of CBS following Moonves' departure amid a sexual misconduct scandal in 2018, is leaving the network after 22 years. Cheeks will assume the role of president and CEO of the CBS Entertainment Group. Ianniello's exit was expected following the merger of Viacom and CBS. Cheeks left NBC Universal earlier this month.
