Doctor Who theme co-creator honored posthumously with a PhD

  • Electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire, who died in 2001 after being mostly unrecognized for her contribution to the classic theme song, will be given an honorary PhD from Coventry University. Derbyshire transformed Ron Gainer’s written score into an iconic piece of electronic music, but she wasn’t credited for her contribution.
