During Disney's investor day presentation, Disney’s new distribution chief Kareem Daniel also announced plans for 15 new Disney and Pixar animated series. He didn't specify a time frame for all the new Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar/Disney series. That amounts to at least 35 new titles from Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Disney Animation and Pixar Animation. As Variety's Adam B. Vary notes, the news of 10 new Star Wars series was perhaps the "biggest surprise," marking "the most aggressive creative expansion of the franchise since Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. So far, Disney+ has only released one Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, with at least three others in various stages of development, including the Obi-Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor, the Rogue One prequel series revolving around Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor and Leslye Headland's female-centric Star Wars series.
