Amazon developing popular manga The Promised Neverland as a live-action series

Variety reports Amazon is working with writer Meghan Malloy on a live-action English version of Kaiu Shirai's manga series that is illustrated by Posuka Demizu. "In Promised Neverland, a group of the smartest kids at a seemingly idyllic orphanage uncover its dark truth when they break a rule to never leave the orphanage grounds," per Variety. "Once the truth is discovered, they begin to plan an escape to save all of the children. To date, the series has sold over 20 million copies."
