A Canadian transgender sitcom is disputing that Ryan Murphy's Pose has the largest-ever transgender cast

Canadian comedy The Switch “got there first,” says creator Amy Fox, noting that her show's pilot premiered on TV in 2014 and was broadcast on Canada’s OUTtv in 2016. Like Pose, The Switch featured five “transgender/non-binary stars” plus other transgender supporting cast. “We wish to correct the record not because it's important who was first, but because it is necessary to recognize the vision and bravery of the earliest trailblazers in the nascent realm of scripted transgender content,” Fox says in a statement.
