One Chicago Returns, Nine Perfect Strangers Wraps, and Survivor Goes Big

    Cable and streaming deliver a cornucopia of options today as the Chicago-verse returns to NBC, Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers reaches its dramatic conclusion, and Survivor Season 41 premieres with a two-hour episode. Plus, ABC unveils its Wonder Years reboot, The Masked Singer kicks off its sixth season, and Disney+ expands the Star Wars universe in the new animated collection Star Wars: Visions. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Wednesday:

    Chicago Med: Season premiere. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) returns to Med to help Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) with a secret investigation. Elsewhere, Charles (Oliver Platt) deals with twins who insist on being identical inside and out. Watch preview. 8:00 PM ET on NBC

    The Wonder Years: Series premiere. ABC reboots the late-eighties sitcom of the same name in this 1960s-set story about a Black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama. The series is presented through the perspective of Dean (Elisha “EJ” Williams, with his adult counterpart voiced by Don Cheadle), an imaginative 12-year-old struggling to figure out where he fits in.     Chicago Fire: Season premiere. As Firehouse 51 deals with the aftermath of the capsized boat rescue, Gallo (Alberto Rosende), Ritter (Daniel Kyri), and Violet (Hanako Greensmith) discuss plans for a side gig. 9:00 PM ET on NBC

    The Conners: Season premiere. ABC's hit sitcom is going live tonight, performing the same episode twice — once for the east coast, and once for the west. The show's fourth season is set to follow the Conners as they plan an upcoming wedding while navigating breakups, newfound sobriety, and the current pandemic. Watch preview. 9:00 PM ET/PT on ABC

    Alter Ego: Series premiere. FOX takes the musical singing competition to the next level in a new series that gives contestants a chance to perform as their dream avatar. Rocsi Diaz hosts, with judges Nick Lachey, Grimes, and Alanis Morissette. Watch trailer. 9:00 PM ET on FOX

    Chicago P.D.: Season premiere. When a police informant is murdered, the team digs in to track down the perpetrator, only to discover a shocking truth. 10:00 PM ET on NBC

    A Million Little Things: Season premiere. Gary (James Roday Rodriguez) struggles in the aftermath of his encounter with Peter (Andrew Leeds). Meanwhile, Regina (Christina Moses) and Rome (Romany Malco) put on a united front following the closure of Someday and the deportation of Tyrell’s (Adam Swain) mother.
