Lindsey Granger Blames Democrats for Allowing Roe v. Wade to Be Overturned

The guest co-host's politics continue to make little sense.

With every passing day on The View, Lindsey Granger's politics make less and less sense. On Thursday, the guest co-host seemed to blame Democrats for allowing Roe v. Wade to be overturned, a position that many on the left would agree with, but she later defended the "MAGA crowd" after President Biden called them an "extreme" political movement. Unwilling (or perhaps unable) to pick a lane on abortion rights, Granger ultimately dismissed the topic altogether, saying, "I just don't think this is the midterm issue."

Unlike yesterday, when she criticized Biden for refusing to react to the Supreme Court's impending overturn of Roe v. Wade, Granger opened Thursday's discussion by accusing the president of addressing the issue at the wrong time. On Wednesday, after discussing his economic plan, Biden was asked by reporters about the state of the GOP and the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion, prompting him to say, "This MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that's existed in American history, in recent American history."

"This was an event that was supposed to be touting something that Biden's done good ... This event was talking about the economy, the #1 issue for voters right now," said Granger. "Instead of saying what he plans to do, or even acknowledging what his plans are on abortion or things that are on top of mind for voters and people, he decided to say, 'The MAGA crowd, Make America Great Again, anybody who aligns with Trump,' when really, Trump didn't run on pro-life. That wasn't a really big thing. He was actually pro-choice before he became president."

Granger went on to say that Montana Sen. Jon Tester (who she falsely said was from Vermont, a point she later had to clarify) has also been critical about Biden's silence on the issue of abortion. "Biden has changed his stance on abortion from 1974 until now multiple times, as recently as 2015 saying that [life] starts at the conception of a child," she added, with seemingly no awareness of the fact that she praised Trump for flip-flopping on the issue just seconds prior. "I understand that Biden has acknowledged all of that, but he is not saying what the actual plan is forward. And so Biden is a lot of talk but a little bit of action."

When Behar urged her to "give the guy a minute," as the leaked opinion only emerged on Monday night, Granger noted that "religious conservatives have been planning this for 40 years, not the MAGA crowd." It was a point that Sen. Elizabeth Warren also made on Wednesday, but when she downplayed the topic altogether, it became clear that the Daily Blast Live host wasn't coming at the issue from the same progressive perspective as Warren. "For some people, honestly, abortion is just not the top issue for them," said Granger. "Because if it had been, there were 40 years of Democratic leaders, Democratic presidents, Republican presidents, different Congress makeups, and nothing was done."

After both Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin explained Biden's shifting abortion stance to their guest co-host — "He's a Roman Catholic. He does not believe in abortion, but he's the president of the whole United States, and so he is governing as the president," said Whoopi — Granger once again implied that voters don't care about abortion (the hundreds of thousands of people protesting around the country would disagree). "People are asking from the Democratic Party what Biden — what the whole of the government approach to attack this is, that 'This is the biggest issue,'" she said. "I just don't think this is the midterm issue, or the issue you're saying it is, that's going to make you win the election. The Democrats are scrambling right now!"

Behar tried to protest, but Whoopi shut things down. "Don't do this!" she said, before throwing the show to commercial.

Only one more day of Granger's ill-informed ramblings, ladies. Don't give up the ship!
