Runway model Bella Hadid is facing backlash over controversial X posts from 2012 that have recently resurfaced online. According to The Daily Mail, screenshots of Bella's alleged old tweets were posted on the subreddit Faux Moi on October 20, where she seemingly made several racist comments and used a racial slur.
One tweet includes lyrics from rapper Tyler, The Creator's 2011 song French: "Got all the black b**ches mad because my main b*tch vanilla," which internet users found offensive. Another post allegedly uses the racial slur.
People talking about how twitter is full of Nazi incels now would not have survived twitter in 2010-2014. Black women were the butt of literally every single viral joke on this app. There were entire pages with large followings dedicated to hating black women. I will never forget https://t.co/QmU1P2zX5C

In a third post, Bella responded to a tweet that read:
"#YouKnowYoureWhiteWhen 4. You know all the correct lyrics to every gangster rap song ever made and sing every word except for n**ga."
To this, she replied: "@TehranSoparvaz guess I'm not white #awkward."
In another post, she responded to a tweet from user @JasperDolphin.
"Ohhh, And Good Night To The White Girls With Blue Eyes. goodnight," wrote Bella.
To which a user named Shakeel Joyce replied, "@bellahadid you're white?"
Hadid allegedly wrote:
"@shakeeljoyce did you think I was black?"
In another post, Bella allegedly wrote:
"Just stole a black mans chicken. Oops @xxChaseHolliday."
The alleged posts date back to 2012, when Bella Hadid was only 16 years old.
"I'm not surprised that a white celeb has a racist past but people hail her as their unproblematic princess. I wonder how this managed to fly under the radar," wrote the users who shared the tweets.
Bella Hadid's alleged X post sparked a wave of reactions from internet users, with one user writing:
"I was around the same age as her and I grew up in the rural Midwest with almost allll white kids. I never said slurs lol. Weird how people try to normalize racism."
"I have genuinely never had a "racism is funny!" phase and I’m shocked when people pretend everyone did," another user wrote.
One user also defended her by pointing out that these posts are "really, really dumb" and old.
"I have no idea why so many celebrities never take the time to scrub their social media. You’d think that’d be the first thing their PR team tells them. That being said, while she should have known better at 16, but they’re also really, really dumb. It’s not as if she posted this yesterday," the user wrote.
However, many other users argued that being 16 is not an excuse for the comments Bella allegedly made.
"This is not acceptable, and being 16 at the time isn't an excuse," one user wrote.
"'she's 16' i think being 16 years old is enough to know you shouldn't be shouting such stuff online just cuz you have a twitter account," another user wrote.
"And im sure people will excuse it by saying she was 16, as if 16 yo black girls weren't reading those tweets. But i guess their trauma is the price to pay for white people to grow and learn," another user stated.
The alleged tweets attributed to Bella Hadid resurfaced as she recently walked in the 2025 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on October 15.
