Elliot Page appeared on Good Morning America with co-star Emmy Raver-Lampman on Wednesday to discuss Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy, which premiered today on Netflix.

Page came out as transgender in December 2020. In March 2022, he announced his character in The Umbrella Academy would also transition in Season 3, changing his name to Viktor Hargreeves and going by he/him/his pronouns.

When asked how he feels about the character's transition being written into the show, Page responded, "I'm really proud."

In terms of the reaction from fans, he added, "So far it's seemed really positive, which makes me feel happy in terms of the representation and hopefully it meaning something to people."

Page also appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers Tuesday night, expressing a similar sentiment.

"Steve Blackman, the showrunner of Umbrella, is just incredible and such a wonderful person. So, when we first talked about it, he seemed really excited about incorporating it into the show," said Page. "I feel proud of it and excited for people to see it."

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix.
