The Haunting of Bly Manor creator Mike Flanagan: We currently have no plans for future seasons

Is the Netflix The Haunting franchise dead after The Haunting of Hill House and The Hauting of Bly Manor? Flanagan tweeted this morning, in response to a fan question: "At the moment there are no plans for more chapters. Never say never, of course, but right now we are focused on a full slate of other @intrepid projects for 2021 and beyond. If things change we will absolutely let everyone know!" As EW's Nick Romano points out, Flanagan's comments sound like "a Mindhunter situation: David Fincher noted his fatigue in making the high-quality production, but left the door open to return if he ever felt compelled." Meanwhile, Flanagan recently wrapped up 83 days of filming on his Netflix horror series Midnight Mass amid the pandemic.
