Syfy to end the Sharknado movie franchise this summer

Sharknado 6, which has yet to get an official title, will mark the end of the franchise that first became a Twitter sensation in summer 2013, according to TV Line. Ratings have steadily declined over the past few years, with 1.89 million watching last year's edition, about half of its Sharknado 2 high. Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo and Vivica A. Fox will all return for the final movie. Director Anthony C. Ferrante will also be back after helming the first five films. Sharknado 6 will follow the ending of Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, which had Ziering's Finn travel back in time to stop the Sharknado that started it all.
